Back in Raleighwood

It has been a little over a week since the Glam Team returned home from Hollywood.  The snow was a harsh reminder that NC shares in all season - very different from the sunny, mild Los Angeles we enjoyed during Golden Globe week!  We can't wait to pass on that celebrity style and red carpet energy to our clients at Glam Lounge.  Be sure to stop in for a Golden Globe inspired updo or hot new cut you may have seen from all the red carpet coverage.

We had so many thrilling moments with the celebrities and great interviews with the best entertainment news groups out there (UsWeekly, Life & Style, E! News, and even Access Hollywood stopped by the GLAM boutique at the Style Lounge).  We are currently following up with an overwhelming number of contacts we made as a result of bring our star inspired GLAM hair care to Hollywood.  The possibilities of where these leads can go are incredible!  Glam Lounge may "just" be a salon in the small city of Raleighwood, but our ambition to make our GLAM product line successful (combined with our editorial work) will continue to prove that we are ready to take over Hollywood and beyond!

In addition to hearing firsthand celeb encounters from Dawn and Justin during your next visit to the Glam Lounge, pretty soon there will be another much sought after photo book.  You will be able to see photos of all your favorite stars who took home a little bit of GLAM (our hair product, that is) from the Golden Globes style lounge.  When you see how many faces from the big and small screens were introduced to GLAM, you'll get the true sense of how exciting it was to premiere our product line at such an event.  Don't pack your boxing gloves for your next hair appointment, this time we will have two copies of the photo book...so there will be no fighting!

We would like to thank all of our faithful fans (oops!  clients) for all your support and interest in our adventures to Hollywood.  After glamorizing the stars at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival Style Lounge, we were extremely honored to be invited back for another star-studded experience.  We will keep you informed of our next big adventures.

While our brush with the Golden Globe-bound jet set was short lived, we are thankful for the experience.  As for the inside jokes and juicy details, you'll have to make an appointment at Glam Lounge to get those.  And by the way - here's to our new friend Viola Davis and her Oscar nomination for Doubt.  We're pulling for you!

Stay tuned...photos will be uploaded shortly.  We know the suspense is killing you!

Lights, Camera, Action!

We are finally back in the South and though a bit tired, happy to be home.  We are gearing up to watch the Red Carpet coverage to see our newest friends and cheer them on during tonight's Golden Globe ceremony.

Our favorite Best Supporting Actress is hands down Viola Davis of Doubt.  She was the first nominee we met and was stunning, delightful and down-to-earth.  Her husband was glowing with pride and was impressed at Glam Lounge's success in just three and a half years.  They wished us continued success - right back at you Viola!  By the way, if you notice a little extra shine in her hair tonight, it's probably the GLAMglitz we gave her.

We will also be pulling for Debra Messing - who is nominated for Best Actress in the TV Comedy series Starter Wife.  She was absolutely beautiful in person, sporting a fancy updo for her next event, so we weren't able to style her hair BUT we gave her out shampoo and conditioner set.

Blair Underwood is nominated for his role in HBO's In Treatment.  Not only was Blair friendly and quite handsome - in case there was any question - he was genuinely interested in Glam Lounge and what GLAMproducts had to offer.  He left with shampoo and conditioner.  We hope to see that bright smile again during his acceptance speech.

Executive Producer Mark Kassen of HBO's Bernard and Doris stopped by to see us.  He and his team of producers are nominated for Best TV Mini-Series.  We're not really sure who watches this mini series - but we certainly will now.  Mark was as handsome as they come.  He liked the fact that our GLAMsuperstar worked well for the guys.

At the risk of boring you (and name dropping) we will simply list TV shows nominated for Golden Globes rather than all the actors from each show we met:
--Mad Men
--Entourage
--Dexter
--True Blood
--Californication

So now you know who we'll be pulling for tonight.  And don't forget to notice the hair - there's a big chance a little GLAM will be on stage tonight.

Cheers!

The Grande Finale

We're back in the Beverly Hilton dishing about our favorite encounters of the day. The second (and last) day in the Style Lounge was bustling with stars, stylists and other Hollywood VIPs.  While we can't tell all in the blog--you'll have to drop by Glam Lounge to see photos and hear firsthand accounts-- we can certainly give you a quick rundown of our day. Plus, since we got so much one-on-one time, a la the Bachelor we have decided to continue our blog with star-studded stories throughout the week or until we run out.

After seven hours of our brush with fame, here are some celebs who took home some Glam:
  • Carrie Ann Inaba, Dancing with the Stars
  • Viola Davis, Golden Globe nominee from Doubt and her delightful husband
  • Melina Kanakaredes , CSI New York & Judging Amy
  • Taylor Lautner & Ashley Greene, Twilight
  • Blair Underwood, Dirty Sexy Money
  • Neil McDonough, Desperate Housewives (the new creepy blonde man on Wisteria Lane)
Oh, and Justin walked a block with Paris, escorting her from her Carolina blue Bentley into the Style Lounge.  In her tonal blue ensemble--of course to match her car--she took home the complete line of GLAMproducts.

We'd love to share more but Sunset Boulevard is calling. While we have had an incredible time, we are looking forward to the long trip home tomorrow.  Please check in Sunday as there is certainly more to come...

Day Two in Hollywood

Our first day in the Style Lounge was glamourous indeed. Justin chatted it up with Debra Messing (The Starter Wife, Will & Grace) who graciously accepted GLAMsplash and GLAMdrench. Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie) received a touch up from Dawn and model/actress Ali Landry was happy to try GLAMsplash and GLAMdrench at home. The Office's Craig Robinson ("Darryl") added shine to his 'do with GLAMglitz.

The California sun was shining as Mekhi Phifer of ER talked with us and took home some GLAM.  Actor/singer Tyrese (Transformers) was excited to give the gift of GLAM to his mom since his cleanly shaven look requires little maintenance. Brendon Fehr (CSI Miami) brought his family by Glam Lounge's space and took some products for bath time.

Jessica Alba, January Jones, Ludacris, David Alan Grier, Candis Cayne and Tom Arnold all made their way through the Style Lounge before continuing to the flurry of Globe events scheduled today.

After a hard day's work we're heading out on the town for a star-studded evening. More to come tomorrow.

Hello from Hollywood

We made it to Los Angeles and are now getting settled at the Beverly Hilton, the site of the Golden Globe Awards this Sunday.  White tents are up, stages are set, and the hotel is touching up paint jobs to impress the imminent guests.

During today's visit to the Style Lounge site, we discovered a chic outdoor patio reserved for Glam Lounge.  We spent the rest of the afternoon preparing for tomorrow, the first official day of the pre-Golden Globe Awards Style Lounge, where we will showcase GLAMproducts and work our magic on celebrities.  Sarah Jane Morris of the TV drama Brothers & Sisters is our first scheduled appointment.

Beverly Hills is buzzing with all things Golden.  And tomorrow marks the official start of the Style Lounge.  Don't forget to check back tomorrow to find out which stars we styled.  Maybe Paris Hilton or Jessica Biel will stop by again like last year... We'll let you know.

P.S.  By the way, our first official celeb sighting was quite easy on the eyes--Halle Berry's boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.
